SHIP works with, and is led by, people living with HIV - extending its reach to affected children, families, women, youth and vulnerable communities across Guntur District.
Our target groups
Every SHIP programme is designed around one or more of these communities.
People Living with HIV (PLHIV)
Adults living with HIV who need access to treatment, community support and a life free of stigma.
Children Living with HIV (CLHIV)
Children navigating HIV alongside school, health and everyday childhood - with tailored care and protection.
HIV-affected children and families
Children and households impacted by HIV in the family, supported to stay together, in school and financially secure.
Women and adolescent girls
Women living with or affected by HIV, and adolescent girls, supported through leadership, health and livelihoods.
Youth and students
Young people supported with life skills, sexual and reproductive health education and peer leadership.
Vulnerable and marginalized communities
Individuals and families facing intersecting vulnerabilities of health, poverty and social exclusion.
Community leaders and service providers
Peer educators, caregivers and frontline workers equipped to sustain community-led response.
Guntur District, and growing
SHIP primarily operates in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, in partnership with government agencies, health institutions, community networks and local organizations - reaching community members through home visits, support group meetings, awareness camps and referral linkages to government health services.
